Project Description:
Two spiral Pedestrian/Cyclist accesses, each over 200 m long were designed with a joint-less deck connected monolithically to the main viaduct.
The spiral alignment has two and a half turns at a 13 m radius. A 120 mm thick deck with a single layer of reinforcing is non-compositely supported on steel fins that are welded to a curved pipe girder. Steel cantilevers that frame into steel columns support the pipe girder. The steel columns are supported on concrete pedestal columns that are a part of a ring foundation. The accesses are currently under construction, scheduled to be completed by mid 2009.
These services were provided by Mr. Prabhjeet Singh and Mr. Matthias Schueller during employment with Buckland & Taylor Ltd.
