Project Description:
McKay River Bridge is a four span continuous composite bridge over an environmentally sensitive zone. It has a total length of 250 meters supported by three 40 meter piers and two abutments. Access to the main span was difficult due to the channel flow. The bridge was erected using a 500 ton crane with precision required for the craneís positioning. Special launching equipment was designed to take into account the change in geometry caused by the temperature changes.
