The 119 m long integral concrete superstructure is horizontally curved with a radius of 53.7 m and has a constant longitudinal slope of 6%. The slender girder is monolithically connected to the abutments. Six slender columns support the T-Beam superstructure allowing radial movements due to temperature change. The longest span is 28.5 m to allow clearance for the roadway underneath.
The bottleneck parts of the columns were made from cast steel. The bridge is especially recognized for immaculate detailing of the steel connections and the custom railing. The project won ìThe German Bridge Prizeî for the best bridge in the year 2006 in the pedestrian bridge category in Germany.
These services were provided by Mr. Matthias Schueller during employment with Peter und Lochner.
