Project Description:
The Harbourside pedestrian bridge is a tied network steel arch. The bridge has significantly long approaches with a curved alignment in plan to allow the pedestrian/cyclist traffic to ascend within grade limi-tations. The tied arch mainspan is 42m long and crosses railway tracks. The arch span was stage as-sembled along the side of the railway tracks and lifted as a complete unit using two RT cranes of 250 tons and 120 tons capacity. Lifting constraints included overhead powerlines, railway tracks and industrial buildings.
Infinity is responsible for the erection engineering including design of temporary works and the production of the steel shop drawings working on behalf of contractor-erector Surespan Construction Ltd.
