Project Description:
Hansard Bridge, located in Prince George BC, is a 404-meter long single lane continuous composite bridge with spans of 51.44m (2), 54.47m (2), 58.3m (2), and 76.2m. In November 2004, this steel girder bridge complete with steel pipe piles, six concrete piers and abutments was completed using erection launching technology developed by QR Engineering Ltd. Erection procedures were designed for incremental launching of the bridge without the use of a launching nose. Special launching technology was developed for reduced deflection of the girders at the piers, which significantly sped up the launching procedure. The bridge was completely erected in only 3 weeks time.
